Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Straight answers about our alarm response service for homes and businesses in Albuquerque.

  1. [01]

What is an alarm response service?

When your alarm is activated, Apex sends a trained security professional to the property. The responder assesses what happened, documents any suspicious activity and helps you work out the next steps, so you are not left to figure it out on your own.

  2. [02]

Does Apex replace my current alarm system?

Our response service works alongside your existing alarm system and alarm provider. Your system detects and reports possible activity, and Apex provides the on-site response when the alarm goes off. The exact setup depends on your current provider and service arrangement.

  3. [03]

What is the difference between alarm monitoring and alarm response?

Monitoring receives the electronic signal when your alarm is triggered. Response is the physical, on-site support that follows, with a trained professional checking the property for you.

  4. [04]

Why shouldn’t I check an activated alarm myself?

An alarm can be set off by an open door, property damage or a possible intruder, and walking in without knowing which could put you in an unsafe situation. A trained responder can assess the property so you do not have to face it alone.

  5. [05]

Can Apex respond when I am away?

Our local responders can check the property while you are working, traveling, sleeping or otherwise unable to get there, and they document what they find so you get answers without rushing back.

  6. [06]

Is alarm response the same as calling the police?

Apex provides private security response and property assessment, which adds a layer of support on top of police, fire and emergency medical services. If there is an immediate emergency or known danger, call 911 first.
